What lies over yonder?

We've always yearned to explain,
phenomena that have
taxed our brains.

The bizarre universe
we happen to dwell in
has puzzled mankind;
for as long as he has roamed
his home.

The esoteric cosmos of ours
makes us wonder,
what lies over yonder?

From Aristotle,
and Galileo;
to Newton,
Einstein,
and Hawking;
from the past to the present
all we have done is
wonder,
what lies over yonder?

Why is the cosmos
the way it always seems to be?

Why are the stars always on,
and who pays the electricity bill?

If the stars are so bright
why is it that
the sky at night,
is as dark as it is?
It just doesn't seem right.

Why is the universe a vacuum,
and not a broom?

Why won't the planets fall?
And is there really
a hand who wrote it all?

Black holes,
and wormholes;
quasars,
and nebulae;
with human curiosity,
they always play.

The quest for
the theory of everything,
has not yet been put to rest.

We have no clue,
but of what lies over yonder,
we keep growing fonder.
