Epitaph

 Based on the Seikilos Epitaph.

Said Seikilos-

"Sing muse of the sluggish ride to oblivion,

of permanence in a changing cosmos;

sing for my Eurydice who by time was taken.

"For time is all-devouring,

at once knavish yet candid,

agonizingly slow yet like lightning.

Must man remain fated to be terrified?

"No- whilst you live, shine on,

make merry and seize the day,

for before we know it the days are gone

and time, time demands his pay."

I was put hither by Seikilos, where I shall remain forever-

an artifact of timeless remembrance, a time-travelling messenger.
